A sound bath not only brings you more in touch with yourself, but also strengthens the feeling of connection with those around you. Sound baths are a form of vibrational healing. Even though it just opened this month, Eddie and Jocelyn Stern’s new yoga studio and wellness retreat center has already planned a Sound Bath series. A sound bath not only brings you more in touch with yourself, but also strengthens the feeling of connection with those around you.

When it starts on Saturday, February 27, Sky Ting, the super-cool yoga studio on the edge of Chinatown, will be another of Martinez’s regular places around town to enjoy sound baths. Just as you have your Saturday morning hot yoga class that you never skip, even if your boyfriend has snagged a table at the Egg Shop, you can now make sound bathing a real habit.

What is sound bath therapy?

If you’re still not sure if this is for you, try listening to publicly recorded sound baths before you experience a live session. Do this in a quiet place and try to let your mind relax in the process. A sound bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience that consciously uses sound to stimulate gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to NOURISH YOUR MIND AND BODY. During sound bathing, participants lie on the floor and listen to the practitioner play various musical instruments. Sound baths are often done in groups, which helps create an environment where everyone feels comfortable enough to relax.

How much does a sound bath cost?

One reason why sound heals on a physical level is that it touches and transforms us so deeply on an emotional and spiritual level. As an RN, Master Sound Healer, Clinical Sound Therapist, Hypnotist, and Master Sound Healing Therapy Practitioner Instructor, I understand many medical and psychological conditions as well as the anatomy and physiology of the body. Through sound therapy, she has found natural pain relief, spiritual development, and a way to help others live better lives. Sound can compensate for imbalances at all levels of physiological functioning and can play a positive role in treating virtually any medical disorder.
