Don’t think there’s a way to actively improve hearing loss or tinnitus, but if you’re young, your body may be able to do it if you take it slow. I never realized how obvious my tinnitus was until I listened to one of these sound therapy videos that get rid of tinnitus temporarily (for me, it’s a minute or less). My doctor said I should try sound therapy but I’m wondering if that’s true. Just as headaches can mean anything from “you drank too much last night “to a brain tumor, tinnitus can be caused by 100 different things.

What are tinnitus coping techniques?

Tinnitus is not just a sound, but also a psychological, emotional, and physiological problem. When it’s bad, it takes a lot of energy to cope with it all day long. The simple fact that you’re now focusing on (and worrying about) the sound of your tinnitus can mean that the difficult moment is felt, even on days when it might not otherwise have happened. I call it preventative management, and it’s a simple, effective way to improve your quality of life with tinnitus. Remember, if tinnitus is affecting your quality of life, make an appointment with an audiologist near you.
