Next time I’ll talk to Alexander Tuttle, musician and sound therapist, about the healing properties of sound to relieve chronic pain, anxiety, stress, and drug addiction. This applies to pain caused by dental and medical operations, labor and delivery, and cancer. The scientists also identified various brain circuits that dull pain from hind and front paws. Surprisingly, all three reduced the mice’s sensitivity to pain when played only slightly louder than the background noise (about as much as a whisper).

In contrast, activation of the signaling pathway restored the animals’ sensitivity to pain in the presence of sounds.

Does sound therapy work for pain?

The mechanisms by which the effects were achieved in the present study cannot be clearly identified, but underline the need to further investigate the effect of LFSS on muscle and joint mobility through cell stimulation and to determine the need for brain imaging to determine the effect of LFSS on potential neuronal dysrhythmias that may underlie FM. Listeners have reported a remarkable and lasting recovery from their chronic pain, including phantom pain, simply by listening to sound therapy. Sound therapy uses highly filtered classical music with elevated high frequencies to cause a global brain reactivation. Patients with chronic pain due to old injuries or phantom pain from amputations have sometimes achieved complete relief through sound therapy.

Which sound frequency relieves pain?

Many practitioners use a Tibetan singing bowl, crystal bowl, or other instruments to create specific frequencies that can help create a sense of inner peace, meditation, and relaxation. However, if you’re curious about healing frequencies and think they can help you, it can’t hurt to try them out. There is a lot of debate surrounding the topic of healing frequencies, with some people claiming that they are real and effective, and others claiming that they are nothing more than pseudoscience. More and more scientific evidence suggests that sound healing frequencies can be used to effectively treat various health problems.
