Extra Strength Pain Relief Therapy Patch
An extra strength pain relief therapy patch is a small, adhesive patch with medication applied directly onto the skin that releases into your bloodstream and helps relieve pain. Common medications delivered through patches include NSAIDs, local anesthetics and opioids.
These patches contain 5% lidocaine, an anti-inflammatory drug similar to aspirin or ibuprofen. Lidocaine works by blocking your body’s pain receptors, thus relieving or eliminating any discomfort you may be feeling.
Diclofenac patch is an NSAID medication prescribed to relieve pain caused by muscle sprains, strains and injuries as well as after surgery or when you have a fever. It’s available over-the-counter under the brand name Flector.
Fentanyl patch is a medication that can be prescribed by your healthcare provider and used to treat various pain conditions like back and neck discomfort as well as headaches. Be warned however, that this powerful painkiller has strong potential side effects.
Before using a patch, inform your healthcare provider of any allergies you have and any medical conditions you have. Also, inquire about medications taken currently or in the past, both prescription and over-the-counter.
After using a patch for 72 hours, it must be removed and disposed of in the trash.
Apply the patch to a flat, hairless area of your body such as an upper arm, chest or back. Select a skin-safe medical grade adhesive that is heat activated for best results.
Apply the patch to the area of skin where you experience pain. You may apply multiple patches if needed for extended use or if your doctor has approved additional patches.
Always wash your hands before and after touching the patch to prevent contamination of the drug. Also, do not let the patch come in contact with eyes, mouth, or other areas where it would be unsafe.
These patches stand out from other types of patches due to the antimicrobial agent they contain that helps prevent infection. Plus, they feature a hypoallergenic adhesive that is non-toxic and safe even for people with sensitive skin.
They come in various sizes to address the area where you have pain. Not only are these easy to apply, but they will stay put for hours!
The Coralite patch contains natural menthol and camphor that work when in contact to relieve mild to moderate aches and pains caused by sore muscles, sprains/strains, arthritis and bruises. The breathable adhesive pad makes it convenient for large areas while the ointment-like base soothes soreness while providing a cooling effect.
Coralite patch should be applied at least twice daily for optimal pain relief. However, you can discontinue its use if you experience side effects or it no longer provides effective results.
