Five New Music Therapists at Settlement Music School

Caryn is a Board Certified Music Therapist with extensive experience working in Kardon Institute for Arts Therapy and other settings. Her clients range from developmental disabilities and brain injuries to Alzheimer’s, dementia, mental illnesses and autism spectrum disorders; additionally she manages a therapeutic rock band which meets their social, emotional and musical needs; furthermore she serves as an instructor within Drexel University’s Creative Arts in Therapy Program.

She currently works at Settlement as the Music Therapy Assistant and supervises Master’s level students in this field. Her passion lies in developing others’ skillsets in music therapy and using its power to effect meaningful change through music.

Alexis Ramagnano holds both a Bachelors of Music in Voice and Masters in Clinical Music Therapy from Temple University, where she continues to hone her craft through continuing education courses and workshops. With an enthusiasm for working with individuals of all ages and abilities, she hopes to expand her clinical practice over the coming years.

Grace Clements is a newly hired member of the Settlement Music School team. With nearly 10 years of experience as a Music Therapist, she has had the chance to work with children, adolescents and adults across various clinical settings. While her focus lies in working with young children, her expertise in jazz drumming allows her to support clients across different age groups and skill levels.

Ashley Stewart is a recent graduate of Temple University, where she studied music therapy and psychology. Her passion lies in building supportive relationships with clients and encouraging them to reach their highest potentials. Through music therapy, Ashley hopes to empower individuals by inspiring them to find their unique voice, confidence and strength. In the future she hopes to specialize in trauma-informed care as well as NICU music therapy.

Claire Coco is a cellist and music educator who has taught in both Philadelphia Archdiocese and Settlement Music School. She enjoys teaching class cello as well as coaching chamber music to all skill levels, drawing upon her background in general music education. At Settlement Music School, Claire joins an inspiring team that offers students the chance to express themselves creatively through music.
