Foresight Mental Health

Foresight Mental Health is a national mental health and wellness organization with offices across America that is revolutionizing mental healthcare through technology and data. Their network of full-time therapists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, neuropsychologists, and nutritionists offer integrated care using the latest digital health tools to deliver personalized data-backed treatment plans for patients.

Foresight offers therapy to kids & teens, individuals, couples, and families in 11 states. Sessions cost $80 – $200 per session and Foresight accepts most major insurance providers.

Foresight can be broadly defined as the capacity to anticipate and plan for future events. It encompasses various domains such as predicting decisions to make in the future, delaying gratification (like delaying acquisition of an object to get more), recognizing other cognitive processes like event recognition and planning behavioral responses in sequence, etc.

Studies investigating foresight in schizophrenia typically use interview- or behavioral-based measures to assess global measures of its usefulness. These may include ‘content’ measurements such as phenomenology and specificity of simulated future scenarios, along with ‘generation’ measurements like time taken to produce those events simulated.

In addition to traditional interview-based and behavior based measures of foresight, performance based measures have also been developed in adults. One such performance-based measure is a virtual week-foresight task which asks participants to simulate everyday scenarios where episodic foresight would be beneficial in problem solving.
