Healing Sounds For the Lungs
Healing sounds are a type of sound qigong used in Chinese medicine to regulate and cultivate different kinds of qi within the body, as well as help balance and harmonize emotions.
Traditional Chinese medicine recognizes five major organs (heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney) each having a sound associated with it. Vibrations from these sounds stimulate and energize each organ’s function while allowing healthy qi to circulate throughout its meridians.
Blockages in meridians can cause stagnation of qi in an organ and other parts of the body, leading to physical, mental, and emotional imbalances for individuals.
Practice of healing sounds can clear away these blockages and restore qi flow to affected organs, restoring them to full functionality.
The lungs are one of the most essential organs in our body. These small but vital organs regulate circulation, immunity and water metabolism while providing us with oxygen to breathe and store vital life force that keeps us going.
Emotion can cause the lungs to become blocked and clogged with stress, tension and other negative emotions. Furthermore, our lungs are sensitive to changes in our environment like pathogens or viruses that could enter us accidentally.
This course will guide you through the six qigong healing sounds in a gentle and accessible way. Each sound has its own set of postures and movements that can be learned quickly and easily.
You will learn to master specific mouth forms and breathing methods that allow the healing sounds to massage internal organs, stimulating healing and placing you in a state of physical and emotional equilibrium.
Utilizing sound combined with specific postures and visualizations can help regulate and eradicate negative emotions such as depression, fear, anger, and anxiety.
Once you learn the techniques, these sounds can be practiced anytime to promote your wellbeing and reduce stress. They are great to use before or after meditation, at the end of a stressful day, when feeling physically stiff or rundown, or as an additional form of exercise.
It is best to practice these sounds in a quiet and comfortable space, free from distraction. Avoid doing them while driving, exercising or working on your computer.
The healing sounds are an ancient form of qigong that dates back to China’s early centuries. These powerful sounds help open energy channels in the body and may reduce symptoms related to stress, anxiety, and depression.
