The Center for Healthy Minds provides a pioneering scientific framework that emphasizes the four pillars of wellbeing: awareness, connection, insight and purpose. Research has demonstrated that these attributes are linked to specific neural networks in the brain and can be strengthened through meditation or other forms of mental training.
We evaluated the effectiveness of two versions of the Healthy Minds Program (HMP) – a self-guided, smartphone-based meditation app that includes mindfulness training (Awareness) and practices designed to foster positive relationships or insight into one’s nature (Connection). A three-arm, fully remote RCT was conducted to compare 8 weeks of one condition with a waitlist control group.
