Insomnia Cookie
Dunkin’ Donuts, Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s don’t quite fit the bill when it comes to late night cravings; Insomnia Cookies strives to fill that craving with an irresistible cookie.
Seth Berkowitz, a college student from Pennsylvania, came up with the idea for this business in 2003 when he noticed there weren’t many late night delivery options for baked goods. So he created a business plan and started baking and delivering cookies from his dorm room at Penn.
Today, Insomnia is an American chain of bakeries that specialize in delivering warm cookies to individuals and companies alike. Headquartered in New York and Philadelphia, their locations span across America – many near university campuses.
At present, Insomnia operates 105 stores throughout America but only three are in Georgia. The company selects which franchise locations to open based on proximity to college universities.
Catharine Gatlin, market manager at Insomnia Statesboro, reports that their newest location opened last week. She adds, “Our goal is to be a place students can come for late-night treats and snacks.”
For a limited time, Insomnia is turning your chilled favorites into delicious ice cream-filled cookies, like Deluxe Hot Fudge Sundae and Classic Banana Split. They’ll be available at select bakeries across America as well as local delivery in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Maryland Washington D.C. Virginia and surrounding cities.
