Does
insurance cover CBT for sleep disorders?
CBT-I may also be covered when it is used to treat sleep disorders caused by PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). If you decide to file claims with your insurance company for reimbursement of out-of-network benefits, you can do so and I’ll issue you an additional invoice for this purpose after each session. These plans typically include individual therapy with a professional such as a psychiatrist or a nurse who specializes in mental health. Online directories, particularly ones where you can search clinicians by specialty, your company’s employee assistance program, and college universities with sleep centers, are all viable ways to find a CBT-i recommendation.
