When a person’s body is in contact with the embedded speakers, the music is sent from the source into the transducers and is then perceived by the body as a vibration and heard by the ears as sound. Studies prove the effectiveness of vibroacoustic therapy. The transducers can be embedded in furniture such as portable mats, mattresses and massage tables, custom-made tables with water bubbles, beds and loungers. Vibroacoustic treatments have been shown time and time again to increase blood flow, which nourishes the body’s cells and organs.

Vibroacoustic therapy is a new sound technology that uses audible sound vibrations to reduce symptoms, induce relaxation and reduce stress.

What is vibroacoustic sound therapy?

The vibrotactile input stimulates nerve bundles along the spine, up into the brain stem and then through the limbic system. When vibroacoustic therapy is used in conjunction with other vibrational modalities, such as essential oils and Reiki, it creates what Don Estes calls “sensory resonance,” in which the individual is immersed in harmonic frequencies that bring the entire brain and body into a state of peace and calm. A deeper understanding of the benefits of sound and vibration was awakened and reinforced by the fascination of the researchers working in the pyramids.

What does sound healing do for the body?

The sound of a gong can be heard through the ears. It passes through the auditory nerve, then the vagus nerve and stimulates every organ in the body. While there are many types of sound therapy, they all produce vibrations that alter your brain waves. After this treatment, the client reported that she felt high energy and several days of minimal knee pain and asked that sound healing be part of her regular treatment. However, according to sound healer, Reiki master, and yoga and meditation teacher Susy Markö Schieffelin, almost any instrument can be used for sound healing if it is used with the right intention.

It’s hard to survive the hype about sound healing, as science hasn’t quite caught up with people’s hopes.
