Jackson Mental Health Offers Dual Diagnosis and Co-Occurring Disorder Services

Jackson Mental Health provides a comprehensive continuum of care, from inpatient and outpatient treatment, for children, adolescents and adults struggling with behavioral or emotional problems. Their team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, advanced registered nurse practitioners (RNPs), registered nurses (RNs), social workers (OCWs), occupational therapists (CTRS/MT), certified therapeutic recreation specialists (TRSs), music therapists and counselors.

Psychological hospitalization may be necessary when an individual experiences a crisis or needs to stabilize their mental state before returning home. Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital understands this need and offers each patient the specialized level of care that they require.

The top mental health rehab centers provide a range of treatments to address all forms of mental illness, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. These programs employ various techniques like cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive and acceptive/commitment therapy and psychodynamic theory.

Jackson Mental Health understands the prevalence of mental illness and substance abuse disorders. Their staff works closely with their patients to diagnose whether they have either a mental illness or addiction, then provide the appropriate treatment plan. Furthermore, they offer counseling for aftercare to give patients the tools needed to sustain sobriety in the future.

The daughter of late pop star Michael Jackson has entered a treatment center to regain her health after touring around the world for over a year. This decision is significant; it indicates she’s taking control of her health care decisions, according to sources close to the family.

Experts praised her candid conversations with Esquire magazine about her struggles with depression as an inspiring example of how celebrities can share their own stories and inspire others to seek help, said Paul Gionfriddo, president and chief executive officer of Mental Health America. “All stories matter,” he said.

Experts agree that having a candid conversation about mental health issues with a celebrity can be therapeutic for those dealing with them and could potentially prevent suicide. It also provides hope to those less well-known who feel alone, Gionfriddo noted.

It has become increasingly evident that pop icon Michael Jackson may have suffered from Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) before his tragic overdose death in 2009. Many symptoms associated with NPD, which are not listed in the DSM-IV-TR, were present both during his life and death.

Jackson’s NPD would have made it difficult for him to function in the public and become the success that he became. His lack of control over his temper and sense of self-importance would have caused problems when dealing with media attention or other people’s opinions about him. As such, NPD may have prevented Jackson from becoming King of Pop as we know him today.

NPD can be linked to childhood trauma and loneliness. It may also be the result of parental conditioning and is characterized by a lack of empathy and distorted perceptions of reality. Many believe this explains why Jackson’s fame was fuelled by his need to be perfect, his use of drugs and alcohol, obsession with physical appearance, as well as his inability to break free of being the Man in the Mirror.
