Francine Shapiro, a psychologist, pioneered EMDR when she discovered that bilateral eye movements – similar to rapid eye movement in sleep cycles – could help the brain process traumatic memories and reduce recurrences of distressing feelings. Today she is considered one of the world’s foremost authorities on this technique.
She has assisted thousands of patients with a range of symptoms to find the source of their issues. Advocating an integrated approach to healing, she loves providing her clients with tools that enable them to reach their full potential.
In her practice, she utilizes the EMDR technique for processing and integration of painful experiences, negative beliefs, and unhelpful habits to heal from the past. Furthermore, she has been trained in Somatic Experiencing–an approach to body and brain healing.
Jennifer has experienced trauma firsthand and understands the devastating effect it can have on those she cares for. With compassion and understanding, Jennifer strives to create a safe space where clients can explore their complex histories and uncover what’s causing their symptoms.
