Migraine After Electroconvulsive Therapy

We investigated the effects of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) on headache and myalgia in 337 patients who underwent ECT. Headache and myalgia were evaluated immediately post-ECT period, 2 hours after ECT, and 6 hours after ECT using a 4-point verbal rating scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 16 using nonparametric correlation and chi-square tests; significantly associated with number of sessions received (P = 0.017) but not with sexual activity.
