The Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy

The Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy

CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) is a therapy that addresses thoughts and behaviors to help individuals improve their mental health. This form of talk therapy has been scientifically researched and proven effective at treating various emotional and behavioral issues.

The Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy is a nonprofit organization that provides training, research and clinical services in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). Founded by Dr. Aaron Beck and his daughter Judith S, its mission is to promote and expand the use of CBT around the world while encouraging its research and teaching.

It offers two levels of certification: Level 1 and Level 2. These courses teach you how to treat clients suffering from mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety or addiction. You may even gain insight into working with children and young adults.

To become a licensed therapist in mental health care, you must possess extensive training and experience. Most states require that you complete 2000 hours of clinical work prior to applying for your license.

When selecting a professional CBT training course, there are numerous options to choose from. These include online and face-to-face courses as well as self-study materials.

This course provides a solid introduction to the fundamental principles of CBT, covering topics like core beliefs, hot thoughts and behavioral strategies. It’s ideal for those with six months or more experience after receiving level-3 APT accreditation as well as therapists just beginning to employ CBT techniques in their practice.

This two-day virtual course provides you with the fundamentals of CBT techniques and how to apply them in your practice. Additionally, it will increase your confidence level and comfort level when using CBT techniques.

It will give you insight into structuring sessions and developing a relationship with your patients. It will show you how to explain the rationales behind your interventions, as well as collaborate with them in developing action plans.

The ‘Practice’ course is tailored for therapists with more than six months of clinical experience who are qualified to offer advanced CBT treatments. It covers many of the topics covered in the ‘Essentials’ course, but with greater focus on skill development and demonstrations.

You can earn a Certificate of Completion to demonstrate your success after taking this course. Display it proudly on your website, email signature or other marketing materials to demonstrate your command over CBT techniques.

CBT differs from other forms of therapy in that it is time-sensitive and present-oriented, so you can focus on the issue at hand while your therapist provides support. Furthermore, CBT aims to alter how you think – an essential step for long-term recovery from mental illness.
