What does the Om sound do?

As a form of sound therapy, it is meditative and provides a sense of serenity as you adjust to your breath and vibrations. In a simplified spiritual explanation, the meaning of the Om or Aum symbol is a syllable that represents the sound of the universe and connects you to the Divine, the Most High, and the Source of all creation. When you feel the vibration of the song and lose the sound of your own voice among that of your classmates, it is possible to feel at one with other people and even with the universe. Since a mantra isn’t just a sound you say but something you strive to become, it can be a key to reaching deeper dimensions of existence.

What are the four sounds of Om?

They differ in their spelling and interpretation, but the sounds “Om” or “Aum” are predominant in many invocations from the Divine. Without knowing what the mantra is and what wisdom it contains, simply repeating the sound only dullness brings dullness to the mind. Om (or Aum) is a small word that has a wide variety of meanings, ranging from the oft-quoted “sound of the universe” to its proven power to unite the people around us. The mere fact that you intonate this ancient sound and combine it with gentle, intuitive upper body movements has a natural, gentle and balancing effect on your body, mind, emotions and soul.
