In today’s increasingly remote world, gong baths can be carried out both in person and remotely via live events on Zoom and other video conferencing software. Gong baths are also used for pain relief, emotional relaxation, and general relaxation. The presenter then hits a gong with a hammer as the participants record the sounds and vibrations around them. The gong bath attempts to use the healing properties of this instrument to bring peace, relaxation and peace (both physical and mental) to participants.

What is a sound gong bath?

Participants lie down comfortably under a blanket and the gong session is often preceded by breathing exercises or mantra chanting to relax and prepare you for the experience. In general, a sound bath is a meditative experience in which those present are “bathed” in sound waves. It doesn’t require any knowledge or experience, and it can be seen as a form of meditation that is accessible to everyone, rather than a chore or another item on your to-do list. Gong meditation is a unique type of sound practice that uses therapeutic gong sounds and vibrations to induce healing.

Your brain will find it difficult to follow the sounds of the gong, so you’ll likely fall into a deep meditative state at least once during the session.

What are gong baths good for?

They are a powerful spiritual tool — fantastic for detoxing — by removing excess negative energy, pain, and mental chatter. In many places, gong bath meditations take place face to face, but during the lockdown, listeners were able to benefit from the immersive experience of listening to the gong via headphones from the comfort of their own home.
