Both include a conscious use of sound.

What is the Nada sound?

Nada Yoga uses sound vibrations and resonances to treat various spiritual and psychological conditions. Just as a snake is fascinated (by music) and forgets everything else, so does the spirit stop moving when it hears the Nada. Those striving for the kingdom of yoga should start the practice of pristine sound (anahata nada) with a unified mind, free from all worries. The Sanskrit word Nada means sound, tone, or vibration, so Nada Yoga usually means “union through sound” or “yoga of sound.”

Nada yoga is described in Hatha Yoga Pradipika as one of the most powerful and fruitful meditation techniques for calming the mind.

What does NADA mean in yoga?

Nāda or Nād Yoga is the conscious use of sound vibrations such as chanting, mantra and musical resonances to treat various spiritual and psychological illnesses. Nada Yoga is very different from this, as it does not necessarily rely on stretching routines, but focuses on the connection between mindfulness and sound. The ancient Indian system of Nāda Yoga is a science of inner transformation through the power of sound. In this sense, Nada Yoga works as a medicine and therapy and helps a person live a healthy, happy and balanced life in the world.

Since the Middle Ages, Nada yogis, who know their way around music, have combined the rapidly evolving Indian music system with the sound cosmology and philosophy of Tantra and the Vedas.
